Chmeľová odroda Amarillo bola vyšľachtená farmou Virgil Gamache Farms Inc. koncom 20. storočia v tieni sopiek štátu Washington, priamo v srdci americké-ho severozápadu. V oblasti, ktorá stála pri zrode mini pivovarníctva tak, ako ho po-známe dnes. Táto odroda sa ukázala byť veľmi charakteristická a zároveň univerzálna, jedinečná a pritom typická pre inovatívne americké pivá. V našom pivovare sme si ju veľmi obľúbili a v kombinácii s inými chmeľmi sa nachádza v našich pivách ako American Pale Ale, American Amber Ale, American Brown Ale, Black IPA, Double IPA, Belgian Wheat IPA a American Wheat and Rye, kde sa stáva súčasťou symfónie chutí a vôní. Pre odhalenie pivného potenciálu chmeľu Amarillo sme uvarili ľahké pivo v štýle APA spôsobom SMaSH Single malt (jediný slad) a Single hop (jediný chmeľ). Výsledkom je pivo veľmi jednoduché a perfektne čitateľné, ktoré slúži degustátorovi k spoznaniu vlastností tejto špecifickej chmeľovej odrody. Medzi najvýznamnejšie črty amerického chmeľu Amarillo patrí výrazná vôňa pomarančovej kôry a príjemná, no dlhotrvajúca horkosť.

The hop variety Amarillo was bred by a farm of Virgil Gamache Farms Inc. in the end of 20th century in the shadow of Washington state volcanos, directly in the heart of American Pacific Northwest, a region that stood by the birth of micro-brewing as we know it today. This sort has shown itself to be very characteristic, yet universal, unique and still typical for innovative American beers. We grew to love it in our brewery and, in combination with other sorts, it is present in our beers such as American Pale Ale, American Amber Ale, American Brown Ale, Black IPA, Double IPA, Belgian Wheat IPA and American Wheat and Rye, where it plays its part in each individual’s symphony of flavors and aromas. To uncover the full potential of Amarillo hops, we brew a lighter beer of the APA style and in the way of SMaSH Single Malt and Single Hop. The result is a very simple and perfectly legible beer serving the taster to unveil the properties of this specific hop variety. Among the most significant features of the American Amarillo hops is a prominent orange peel aroma and pleasant, yet longlasting bitterness.
