Toto pivo je typickým predstaviteľom pivného štýlu nazývaného American IPA. Pôvodom sa jedná o anglický Ale, ktorý vznikol v koloniálnej ére, ako pivo, ktoré vďaka svojej sile a horkosti vydržalo dlhú cestu v extrémnych podmienkach až do anglických kolónií, hlavne do Indie. Koncom 20. storočia si tento takmer zabudnutý štýl obľúbili craft pivovary v USA, kde sa veľmi rýchlo rozšíril v najrôznejších variáciach, najmä vďaka novým, v Amerike vyšľachteným chmeľom. My sme sa pre Vás rozhodli uvariť tento pivný štýl s výmimočným chmeľom s názvom Columbus. Je súčasťou takzvanej veľkej trojky odrôd CTZ (Columbus, Tomahawk a Zeus), ktoré sa objemom produkcie radia medzi najpestovanejšie odrody v USA a svojím úspechom pomaly vytesňujú tie ostatné. Tento chmeľ je až päť krát horkejší ako bežne používané chmele, pričom má aj vynikajúce aromatické vlastnosti. Dominantné tóny živice a ihličia zľahka prechádzajú v čierne korenie a kari s náznakom sladkého drievka a to celé je zabalené do jemnej citrusovej arómy. This beer is a typical representative of a beer style called American IPA. English by origin, this beer style was born in the colonial era as a beer which, thanks to its strength and bitterness, sustained the demanding journey to English colonies, most importantly to India. In the end of the twentieth century, this nearly forgotten beer style has been joyfully adopted by craft brewers in the USA, where it has swiftly spread in its numerous variations, mostly thanks to novel American-bred hop varieties. We have decided to brew this beer style with an outstanding hop variety called Columbus. It belongs to The Great Trinity of varieties CTZ (Columbus, Tomahawk and Zeus), which are amongst the most massively grown and which have had an overwhelming success. Columbus is up to five times more bitter than commonly used hops, yet has amazing aromatic properties. Dominant resin and spruce tones slowly disappear in black pepper and curry flavours, that all dressed in a duvet of tender citrus aroma. Moreover, many have compared its pleasant unobtrusive bouquet to the sweetish floral scent of marijuana. Come try for yourself to see what in this beer appeals to you.
